BOLDIZSÁR – GÁLL – NOVÁK : A magyar ejtőernyőzés 100 éve = 100 years of Hungarian parachuting (ajánló)
Hiánypótló művet tart kezében az olvasó: az idén 100 éves magyar ejtőernyőzésről már számos kiváló szakmunka született, ám ezek egy-egy részterületre fókuszáltak. Jelen könyv szerzői arra törekedtek, hogy átfogó képet adjanak a hazai ejtőernyőzés történetéről. A kezdeti lépésektől napjainkig kísérhetjük figyelemmel a bejárt utat, mely bővelkedett kiemelkedő teljesítményekben, olykor pedig fájdalmas tragédiák árnyékolták be.
A fejlődés nem volt mindig töretlen, gyakran szakították meg a történelem nagy földmozgásai, a megtorpanásokat azonban mindig talpra áIlás követte. A trianoni békeditátum repülést korlátozó passzusai miatt az 1930-as évek második felétől szinte a semmiből kellett létrehozni azt az egységet, amely a katonai ejtőernyőzés magja lett. E munkában oroszlánrészt vállalt a legendás parancsnok, Bertalan Árpád, akinek elvesztése a veszprémi katasztrófában súlyos csapást jelentett, ám az ejtőernyősök továbbhaladtak az általa kitaposott úton, és a honvédség egyik legütőképesebb alakulatává váltak. A világháborús összeomlás után ismét sok nehézséggel kellett megküzdeni, amelyben a régi pápai ejtőernyősök szakértelme nélkülözhetetlennek bizonyult. Újdonságnak számított a polgári ejtőernyőzés létrejötte, amelynek fő feladata volt, hogy kiképzett újoncokat biztosítson a hadseregnek, emellett számos kiváló civil sportoló nevelkedett az MHSZ és elődszervezetei szárnyai alatt. A rendszerváltozás ismét fenekestül felforgatta a már megszokott struktúrákat, de az ejtőernyőzés újfent magára talált. Sokan ismerkedhetnek meg az ugrás semmihez sem hasonlítható élményével, a válogatott sportolóink eredményei pedig valamennyiünket büszkeséggel töltenek el.
A kötet ezt az évszázados folyamatot mutatja be gazdag képanyaggal, melyek közül néhányat még nem láthatott a nagyközönség. A kétnyelvű kiadás pedig lehetővé teszi, hogy a külföldi érdeklődők is megismerkedhessenek a magyar ejtőernyőzés múltjával, jelenével, és osztozzanak velünk a centenárium örömében.
The book you are holding in your hand is a much-needed one. Although several excellent professional works have already been published on Hungarian parachuting – which celebrates its centenary this year –, these were all focused on some particular area. The authors of this book wanted to give a comprehensive picture of the history of parachuting in Hungary. From the initial steps to the present day, we can follow the path it has taken, which abounded in outstanding performances and was sometimes overshadowed by painful tragedies.
Its progress has not always been steady, as it was often interrupted by great historical cataclysms, but each standstill was always followed by recovery. Due to the ban imposed by the Trianon Peace Treaty on the air force from the second half of the 1930s, the unit that was later to become the core of military parachuting had to be established almost from scratch. Árpád Bertalan, the legendary commander took the lion's share of the work; his loss in the Veszprém air disaster was a severe blow, but the paratroopers continued to follow the trail blazed by him, and became one of the most combat-ready units of the Hungarian Defence Forces. After the breakdown caused by the world war, many difficulties had to be dealt with again, to which the old Pápa paratroopers' professionalism proved to be essential. The birth of civil parachuting was a novelty, whose main purpose was to supply the army with trained recruits. Besides, many excellent civilian athletes received instruction under the auspices of the Hungarian Homeland Defense Alliance and its predecessor organizations. The political transition in 1989 turned the already familiar structures upside down again, but this time, too, parachuting has been able to get back on its feet. Many people can enjoy the incomparable experience of jumping, and the results of our national parachute team fill all of us with pride.
The book presents this century-long process along with many pictures, some of which have never been published before. The bilingual edition makes it possible for foreign readers to get to know the past and present of Hungarian parachuting, and share the joy of the centenary with us.
