Régi igazság, hogy minden hadsereg ereje nem annyira a falakban, mint inkább katonáinak lelkében van. Abban a világban, amelyben kiemelt szerep jut a kommunikációnak, különösen fontos igazság ez.

Azoknak a katonáknak, akikről ez a könyv szól – talán nem túlzás így fogalmazni – az a feladatuk, hogy a lelkekért küzdjenek. Küldetésük rendkívül komoly tudományos felkészültséget igényel, amely a pszichológia, a szociológia, az antropológia, a kommunikáció és még egy sor terület ismeretéből tevődik össze.

A lényeg azonban – mint a katonaságnál általában – a gyakorlat: a küldetés sikerre vitele. Nos, ez a fiatal alakulat máris nevet és megbecsülést szerzett rendkívül összetett és bonyolult feladatainak megoldásával itthon és szövetségeseink előtt is.

Ők felelősek – a lélektani hadviselés mellett – azért, hogy a civilekkel megfelelő kapcsolatok jöjjenek létre, amelyek lehetővé teszik egyebek mellett a békefenntartó műveletek céljainak keresztülvitelét. Az a dolguk, hogy segítsenek megtalálni azokat a kapcsolódási pontokat, amelyeknek köszönhetően célba juthat az a támogatás, amit a Magyar Honvédség szövetségeseinkkel együtt egy biztonságosabb világ megteremtésének érdekében nyújt. A segítséget úgy juttatják el, ahogy az a legmegfelelőbb az adott ország kulturális szokásainak.

A tudomány és a technika haladásával újabb és újabb területek nyílnak meg a honvédelem területén is. Ennek az alakulatnak a munkája bizonyítja, hogy gyorsan változó korunk kihívásaira igenis lehet jó és hatékony válaszokat adni.

Introduction to the CIMIC book

It is an old truth that the strength of all armed forces lies not so much in the walls as in the soldiers' souls. In a world where communication has a key role, this truth is all the more important.

The soldiers whom this book is about – and I hope this is not an exaggeration – are tasked with fighting for the souls. Their mission requires an extraordinarily deep scientific background which embraces the knowledge of psychology, sociology, anthropology, communication and a series of other fields.

The heart of the matter, however – as generally in the military – is the practice: the successful completion of the mission. Well, this young unit has already made a name for itself and earned respect in Hungary and also from our allies by successfully executing some extremely complex and complicated tasks.

They are responsible – besides psycho-logical warfare – for establishing good relations with the civilian population, thereby enabling the attainment of the objectives of peacekeeping operations. Their duty is to identify the points of connection thanks to which the assistance – which is provided by the Hungarian Defence Forces together with our allies in the interest of creating a safer world – can reach its destination. In delivering the aid, they always fully observe the customs of the given country.

With the advancement of science and technology, more and more new fields open up in the area of national defence as well. The work of this unit proves that even in our rapidly changing age it is possible to give good and efficient responses to the emerging challenges.
