A vasmadarak gyógyítói = Healers of all aircraft (bevezetés)

A repülésnek voltak, vannak és lesznek szerelmesei, hiszen az embert mindig érdekelni fogja, mi van a felhők felett, s milyen érzés apró makettként látni azt, ami a földön óriás. De a repülés nem minden. Ahhoz, hogy egy gépmadár felemelkedjen a kifutó betonjáról, komoly műszaki, technikai háttér és előkészület szükséges.
A Magyar Honvédség légiereje több mint hetvenéves múltra tekint vissza. Azóta sok idő elszállt a történelem szárnyán, de az MH Légijármű Javítóüzem – több mint hat évtizedes fennállása során – mind a múltban, mind a jelenben rátermettségéről tett tanúbizonyságot. Kevés ember mondhatja el magáról, hogy a munkája a hobbija, az üzem dolgozói azonban büszkén vallják magukról, hogy közéjük tartoznak.
A kecskeméti üzem állománya a repülő-üzemvitel működésének mérnök-műszaki biztosításán fáradozik mindennap, nemcsak itthon, hanem akár több ezer kilométerre hazánktól. Az üzem olyan tevékenységet folytat, amely rendkívül szerteágazó, feladataik végrehajtásához nagyon pontos tervezés, koordináció és elhivatottság szükséges. Tennivalójuk embert próbáló. Szakterületükön elért sikereikre méltán lehetünk büszkék. Az MH Légijármű Javítóüzem komoly és felelősségteljes munkájának is köszönhető a repülőeszközök mindennapos üzemképességének és hadrafoghatóságának biztosítása. Mindemellett az üzem egyre inkább szerepet vállal más fegyvernemek feladataiban is.
A hagyományaira büszke szervezet mindent megtesz azért, hogy szolgálata az elődök példájához méltó legyen. Ezzel együtt ápolja és óvja azokat a kötelékeket, amelyek honvéd-, fegyvernemi és csapatmúltjához kötik, beágyazzák a társadalomba, megbecsülést vívnak ki és biztosítanak számára. Az MH Légijármű Javítóüzem dolgozóinak munkája ott kezdődik, ahol a repülőgépek kerekeikkel érintik a gurulót, hogy egy-egy átvizsgálás, javítás után ismét az ég királyaiként ragyogjanak, e munkavégzés szakszerűségén azonban nemcsak a repülőgépek állapota, de a személyzet élete is múlik. Az üzem egyedi tevékenységével és megkülönböztethető arculatával járul hozzá a nagy egész – a honvédség és a haza védelme – teljességéhez. Legyen ez a hozzájárulás hazai földön vagy az országhatáron túl, szakmai feladat vagy katasztrófák következményei elleni védekezés.
Az album részét képezi egy csapathagyományokat ápoló sorozatnak, amely a honvédalakulatokat, a honvédelem ügyét szolgáló egyenruhásokat mutatja be. Bízunk abban, hogy mindenki, aki érdeklődik a honvédelem iránt, örömmel fogadja majd ezt a kiadványt.
Mind az MH Összhaderőnemi Parancsnokság, mind az üzem azon munkálkodik, hogy eredményes legyen abban a törekvésben, miszerint a honi kötelezettségek mellett a szövetség által szabott feladatokat is el tudja látni, mert állománya erre felkészült, illetve felkészített.
Úgy vélem, hogy az eddigi teljesítmény jó alapot adhat a bizakodásra.

Dear Reader,
One thing is for sure, there have always been and will always be airplane lovers in the world. People will surely be interested to know ‘what's over the clouds’ and what it feels like to see a full scale, otherwise giant aircraft so tiny up in the sky. But the aircraft itself is by no means everything that flying comprises. It requires a great deal of technical and mechanical knowledge and support to put an aircraft in the air.
The Hungarian Air Force dates back more than seventy years. During these years of history of the HAF quite a few things happened in the world, yet in the past more than sixty years since its establishment the Hungarian Defence Forces Aircraft Repair Plant (hereinafter: HDF ARP) proved and in the future will surely prove its talent and suitability in the Hungarian Defence Forces. Not very many people can boast to have their job as their hobby. But the employees of the ARP definitely can.
Day by day the staff of the HDF Aircraft Repair Plant is busy with providing technical and engineering support to increase flight safety not only on their home base but on far away locations as well. On regular basis the plant carries out varied tasks and assignments that require punctual planning, coordination and enthusiasm. Executing their everyday tasks really puts the staff to the test. We must be proud of their professional achievements and conduct. With their responsible work the HDF ARP greatly contributes to the day by day combat-readiness and operable condition of all aircraft used in the fleet of the Hungarian Air Force. Besides, the ARP is taking more and more part in the assignments received from other arms of service within the HDF.
The staff members of the plant proud of their heritage do their best to provide the same quality service like their ancestors would. At the same time they are working hard to preserve and nurse their ties to the tradition of the military, arms of service and their unit, incorporating their traditions into society, earning and providing for the plant esteem and reputation. Work in the HDF ARP begins when landing gears of an aircraft touch the surface of the runway and ends when after a certain scheduled, periodical or occasional inspection or repair the aircraft's landing gear leave the runway, and the plane takes off to become the pride of the skies again. Though the quality of the ARP staff's work doesn't only affect the performance of the aircraft but also the crew members' safety, a factor that can tell life from death. What the HDF ARP contributes to the completeness of ‘whole system’ – the military and the home defence – is their unique role and function may it be in Hungary or abroad performing disaster relief or technical duties.
This album is part of the series entitled ‘Unit Traditions’' introducing military units and the uniformed community serving the cause of home-defense. We do hope that everyone interested in home defence will be happy to take this publication in hand.
Both the HDF Joint Force Command and the HDF Aircraft Repair Plant are working hard to fulfill the expectations raised by homeland defence and the duties required by NATO. It is all because the staff of the ARP is ready and prepared for action.
The performance achieved by the ARP gives me absolute confidence in their future.
