MARJOMAA : War on the savannah (ajánló)
This book offers a perspective to the evolution of warfare during the 19th century by analysing a single war.
In 1897–1903 the British Empire conquered the Sokoto Caliphate, one of the last independent African states in modern Northern Nigeria. The low level of military effort required from the British and the incapability of the Caliphate to adapt to new circumstances reflects well the fundamental changes in warfare that led to European world-domination.
