CAPA, Robert, eredetileg FRIEDMANN Endre Ernő (Budapest, 1913 – Thái Bình, Vietnam, 1954) fényképész, a XX. század egyik legjelentősebb
fotóriportere.
Haditudósítóként részt vett a spanyol polgárháborúban (1936), a japán-kínai háborúban (1938). A második világháború során a LIFE magazin tudósítójaként
bejárta az afrikai és az olaszországi hadszíntereket. A normandiai partraszállásról készült képei igen híresek.
1947-ben Henri Cartier-Bresson és David („Chim”) Seymour társaságában megalapítja a Magnum Photos nevű; céget, a szabadúszó fotósok első
ügynökségét.
1948-ban Palesztinából tudósít. 1954-ben mint a LIFE tudósítója, az indokínai harctéren aknára lépve vesztette életét.

He was war correspondent in the Spanish Civil War (1936), in the Japanese-Chinese War (1938).
In World War II he covered much of heaviest fighting in Africa, Sicily, and Italy for the LIFE magazine. His photoraphs of the
Normandy invasion are some of the most memorable ones of the war.
In 1947 he founded Magnum Photos with Henri Cartier-Bresson and David ('Chim') Seymour. It was the first cooperative agency of international free-lance
photographers.
In 1948 he covered the fighting in Palestina.
In 1954 he volunteered to photograph the French Indochina War for Life and was killed by a land mine.
