GRANTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN LATE JANUARY OR EARLY FEBRUARY.
ADVISERS WHO RECEIVE GRANT FUNDS FROM ECA/A/S/A MAY BE REQUESTED BY MEMBERS OF THE CONFERENCE PLANNING COMMITTEE TO PROVIDE SOME ASSISTANCE DURING THE CONFERENCE. ASSISTANCE MAY INCLUDE TAKING NOTES DURING SESSIONS, HELPING AT THE REGISTRATION DESK O R IN THE TECHNOLOGY CENTER, ETC. CONFERENCE ORGANIZERS WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ENSURE THAT SUCH ASSISTANCE DOES NOT PRECLUDE ATTENDANCE AT ANY CONFERENCE SESSIONS OR SPECIAL EVENTS.

Budget Notes:
Advisers who will be attending pre-conference workshops should plan to arrive in Cyprus one day prior to their first workshop. Advisers who will not be attending workshops should plan to arrive in Cyprus on Thursday, July 19, 2001. Advisers should plan to depart Cyprus on Monday, July 23, 2001. Advisers who elect to arrive early or remain after the conference for personal reasons will be responsible for all additional hotel, meal, tour and other costs.
In-Country Travel to Point of Departure – costs associated with travel from adviser’s home to location of international travel departure.
Visa fees – costs associated with securing internal and external visas to travel to Cyprus. Note: State Department will not fund new passports for advisers, only visas.
Round Trip International Transportation to/from Cyprus – advisers are encouraged to work with their local U.S. Embassy or Consulate to locate the most appropriate and economical fares.
Conference Pre-Registration Fee - $150 per adviser. This fee includes participation in the Conference Closing Event and selected meals and coffee breaks. Please note that the State Department will not pay additional costs for late registration, incurred after May 4, 2001. Each adviser will be responsible for completing his/her conference registration. Additional information about registering for the conference will be available via listservs and the OSEAS-Europe website in February 2001.
Workshop Registration Fee – The cost of each half-day workshop is US$25; the cost of each full-day workshop is US$50. A full description and schedule of pre-conference workshops will be available at the OSEAS-Europe conference website:

Meals
The hotel room rate includes breakfast each day. The conference registration fee includes lunch on July 20, 21, and 22 and dinner on July 22 (part of the closing event).
Grant funds may be requested for a maximum of 3 lunches (US$15 each) and 4 dinners (US$24 each) depending on applicant’s arrival and departure dates/times.
Hotel – State Department grants will be based on double occupancy.
Airport Transfers in Cyprus - The maximum rate for an airport transfer is by taxi with a single passenger. If you are traveling with other advisers please adjust your request for this item accordingly (i.e. if two advisers will arrive together and share a taxi to Nicosia, each should request $27).
