NAFSA, USIA, NAFSA/USIA and OSEAS professional development opportunities

1. FEBRUARY 26 is the deadline for overseas advisers to apply for travel and Professional Development Workshop grants to go to the NAFSA Conference in Denver. 2. MARCH 1, 1999 is the deadline to apply to be a host institution in the OSEAS Professional Partnership Program. (see USIA incoming cable 02592 dated Feb. 9, 1999)

3. All centers should submit reports about their centers/subregions to their regional representatives by MARCH 1, 1999. Regional reps will collect information and submit to Martyn and me by April 1st for our 1999 OSEAS summary report to the NAFSA Board of Directors.

4. MARCH 15 is the deadline to apply for one of the grants in the USIA Pilot Program for Senior Level Overseas Educational Advisers (see USIA cable 02135 dated February 3, 1999).

5. APRIL 2 is the deadline to apply for one of the grants in the OSEAS Regional Linkage Program for senior overseas educational advisers (5+ years of experience). (see USIA cable 02799 dated February 11, 1999 or application information on the NAFSA website)

6. APRIL 2 is the deadline to apply for one of two ETS Excellence Awards for Overseas Educational Advising Centers? (each award =$2,500!) 7. You should contact your OSEAS-ADSEC Liaison Project representatives immediately to ensure that information about your country's educational system will be available in our new OSEAS-ADSEC liaison project. (see my e-mail of February 18th to Inter-L)
