THE REVOLUTION'S narrative is by two authors noted for their fine historical writings: the major part of the book is by the well-known Bruce Lancaster, author of more than a dozen outstanding historical novels and histories, including the recent best seller From Lexington to Liberty. Chapter One, which sets the scene from 18th century England's perspective, is by Dr. J. H. Plumb, Cambridge University Lecturer in History. An authority on the 18th century and an eminent English historian, Dr. Plumb is also a writer of perception and wit. The editor of THE REVOLUTION is Richard M. Ketchum, AMERICAN HERITAGE Associate Editor and head of the company's Book Division. Under his direction seven expert researchers, writers and artists have drawn upon libraries, museums and private collections in both the U.S.A. and Europe for the pictures and factual background of the book.
